Who Should Attend?
If you have food allergies and are between the ages of 11 and 21, the Teen Summit is for you. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about your food allergies and to make new friends. Here’s what Carlo, age 14, had to say:
“The Teen Summit is a great place to learn all about your food allergy and how to keep yourself safe. You will meet new people who are just like you are, and together you will find the courage to deal with your food allergies. The Teen Summit is a really great place to meet new friends and talk about whatever interests you about your food allergies. It is just like the teen lunch sessions at the Food Allergy Conferences, but it lasts for an entire weekend, which is great.”
While the FAAN Teen Summit is a weekend for teens, parents are an important part of this event, too. They can’t say enough good things about the Teen Summit. One said, “The Teen Summit was life-changing for my son and me. We met other people who ‘get it’ – no questions asked – which is a welcome relief, and we came away with a strong sense of community.” Another agreed: “The Teen Summit gave the teens and their parents a real understanding that they (and we) are not in this alone.” That’s what this event is all about – bringing people together and providing them with the tools to manage food allergies.
The Teen Summit is only open to teens who are accompanied by a parent (unless the teen is 18 or older). Parents must also be accompanied by a teen to attend.
Registration is now closed.
