What her friends do to help manage her food allergies:
“My friends came to an educational meeting at school to learn how to use my epinephrine auto-injector. They keep track of where my epinephrine auto-injectors are and always make sure someone is nearby in case I have a reaction. About half of my friends carry epinephrine auto-injectors, so we all watch out for each other, sharing ideas about what foods are safe to eat. Together, we have discovered a few safe restaurants. It is also nice to have friends to talk to about food allergies. Having a friend who knows what you’re going through makes it easier to manage food allergies.”
